Euronews broadcast marking the decision by the European parliament to award the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought to the Sudanese lawyer Salih Mahmoud Osman, who worked with SOAT prior to taking a seat in the Sudanese parliament in 2005 and remains a member and close friend of the organisation. (GENEVA, December 14, 2022) Darfur Consortium members the Sudan Organisation Against Torture and the International Federation for Human Rights participated in the 6th resumed session of the Human Rights Commission in Geneva December 10-14.

They welcomed the renewal of the mandate of the Special Rapporteur on Sudan, but deeply regretted the decision of the UN Human Rights Council not to renew its special mechanism on Darfur, while violations continue in the field and remain unpunished.

(October 2-3, 2005) The International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) and its affiliate member, Sudan Organization against Torture (SOAT), together with its local partners, the Khartoum Center for Human Rights and Environment Development and the Amal Center for Rehabilitation of Victims of Torture, organized a round table on "International Criminal Court and Sudan – Access to justice and place of victims" in Khartoum (Sudan), October 2-3, 2005.
