Headline: European Union Approves EUFOR force for Chad

  • European Union approved deployment of EUFOR force in Chad and Central African Republic
  • The force will provide protection for UN workers, civilians, aid workers, and aid supply routes,
  • It will also provide protection for 241,000 Darfur refugees and thousands of Chadian and Central African internally displaced civilians
  • The force will be composed of 3,700 troops, mostly from France, Poland, and Belgium
