Reuters: Darfur Refugees Say to Boycott Sudan Elections.  Nureldin Khalil sits back in the tea shack in Darfur's Abu Shouk refugee camp and shrugs. "Why should I vote? ... No one is speaking the truth in these elections. Everything is a lie."  There are nods and grunts of approval from friends around him, a small sample of what camp residents say are thousands of displaced Darfuris who are boycotting looming elections despite official reports of long queues at voter registration centers.  Sudan is preparing for what could be its first fully multiparty presidential and legislative elections in almost a quarter of a century, now just two months away in April.

The Idaho Statesman: Boisean A.J. Fay is honored for his Darfur activism.  Save Darfur Coalition is honoring Boise resident and Darfur activist A.J. Fay as part of its Darfur Heroes program.   A.J. Fay, 19, is co-founder of the Idaho Darfur Coalition or IDC, an affiliate of its parent organization, the Save Darfur Coalition.  He helped organize a local chapter in 2006 with fellow co-founders Marcia Prasch and Marylyn Griep to raise awareness in Idaho about the ongoing genocide in Darfur. 

The Economist: Sudan's politics-A vital election.  IN APRIL Africa's largest country goes to the polls for its first national election since 1986. The election was forced on President Omar al-Bashir's regime in Khartoum in 2005, the price that it had to pay for signing a peace deal with its southern rebels in January of that year.

Sudan Tribune: Four killed after militia's attack on South Darfur camp.  Four civilians were killed and 15 others wounded following a raid carried out by militiamen in the restive region of Darfur, an eyewitness told Sudan Tribune.  The Janjaweed attacked Al-Baytari camp southern Kass town in South Darfur state on Tuesday morning where they killed four residents and wounded 15 people while there are 15 missing persons.

Reuters: Sudan must speed up Darfur trials: rights expert.  Sudan's special prosecutor for crimes in Darfur has not charged or tried anyone, and the government must speed up trials or lose the confidence of the people, a U.N.-appointed human rights expert said on Thursday.  Sudan appointed special prosecutor Nimr Mohamed in 2008 hoping his trials would delay the International Criminal Court which last year issued an arrest warrant for President Omar Hassan al-Bashir for war crimes in Darfur. Sudan rejects the ICC's jurisdiction.
